MindShift CBT - Anxiety Relief App Recensioni

Useless

The app does very little. ChatGPT does more…

Gets the job done

This app provides a plethora of resources like grounding techniques, coping statements, journaling/goal setting, and educational articles. While there may be limits on things like how many journal entries per day, the app does a great job with providing basic coping strategies.

Amazing app

Nothing much to say just read the title

Anxious

It should have a test to make sure you have anxiety and if you do how you tell your adults. Overall ok

Useful app!

In all, I give the Mindshift CBT app a 4 out of 5. It is a helpful tool for building self-regulation skills and managing anxiety. The approach that Mindshift CBT takes is structured, and goal-oriented which underlines the structure of CBT well. There are multiple different strategies and coping mechanisms provided to fit a range of users' specific needs. In addition, a user-friendly digital platform makes it a practical resource for adolescents. However, the app’s restricted community access to users under the age of 18 highlights an area for improvement. Because adolescents tend to use social platforms to express themselves, integrating a section that the younger group of adolescents can access would add more benefits for that group of users. Overall, I would recommend this app to struggling adolescents, as well as to adults.

Good for most

I like this app, there are a few things that would make it 5⭐️. It needs a “fine” check in, good or bad is not enough. I need more of an in between. They don’t have an option for “the happiest and saddest I’ve been at the same time.”

Great but with caveats

This app checks almost all the right boxes for me. The check in, the graph and the tools are all very helpful. It would be great if the the "what's going on" space allowed for longer notes. I also wish that under "symptoms" there was a scale of crying (shed a few tears, cried, uncontrollable sobbing), as well as for grieving

Goldi

I am an Licensed Independent Social Worker/Supervisor. I provide therapy to individuals and families. I often recommend this app to my clients. Thank you so much for creating this! It’s absolutely terrific!

Great for Adolescent Use.

I found this app to be very usable and functionable for adolescent use. I like the monitoring of how you are feeling and being able to go back and look at the chart from your previous ratings.

MindShift review

As a social work student, learning about MindShift CBT has become an invaluable resource in my journey to support adolescents facing anxiety. Its user-friendly interface ensures seamless navigation, making it accessible for adolescents to incorporate into their daily routine. While the app excels in delivering evidence-based interventions, enhancing social connectivity features could further enrich the user experience, fostering a sense of community and support. Overall, MindShift CBT is a must-have for social work students and practitioners alike, offering comprehensive support for adolescents navigating anxiety.

Simple app and helpful

I like that you can set goals There aren’t bombarding ads And it’s simple to use I’ve only used it for a day but it’s a cute way to keep a diary, find community, and track emotions. As well as making a simple small to do list.

Review

I'm a teen who suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. I can't get a therapist (because of parents) so I'm trying to find other ways to cope. The breathing exercises and calming and relaxing. Tracking my anxiety levels will be good to show to my doctor later on. This app is the only good thing my school has recommended to me. I will say, if I'm in a deep panic attack, sometimes I'll do the breathing and it won't really work instantly. But I do realize that it can take time especially if I'm so deep in a spiral. All and all it's a great app and I like it a lot.

Amazing app but

This app is amazing but now I can’t make a post or anything keeps coming up error hopefully this is fixed soon.

Creating an account

It won’t let me create an account. I tried emailing the app makers but I haven’t got an email back. My doctor told me I need to use this for my anxiety so I’m kinda mad that it won’t let me use it

Great app BUT…

I was using this to track myself and it was a great resource…..until a few days ago and now I can’t share progress, I can’t do checkins, etc…. Everything I do gives me an error message. Please fix the app. My rating would be 5 stars if it hadn’t been conking out on me

SLAYYYY

THIS APP IS SO HELPFUL

MindShift app

I forget to use it but when I do rediscover it I am grateful for the way it is set up. I like scrolling back through my goals to see what I’ve accomplished

Very nice

I have anxiety and this always calms me knowing I’m not the only one with anxiety

MindShift Review

The purpose of the app is functional and the features of the app promote this functionality. With that being said, the anxiety relieving exercises and tools are very generalized and lack personalization qualities. The way that you can personalize the app to your own unique experience with anxiety is through personal goal setting and diary entries in the slider tool. You can find descriptions of what certain types of anxiety can look like, for example, social anxiety, and read about potential tips that can be useful for you as the user yet they are not specifically tailored to your experience. I found the guided calming exercises to be helpful, but I am not sure if they would continue to be helpful over prolonged usage of the app. There are a multitude of activities on the app, but it seems like the app is meant to be used for a short and specific amount of time. Repeating the exercises can be helpful, but I can see how a user may need more specific and concrete examples that relate to their own experience over time instead of continued use of the generalized activities in the app. The privacy policy indicates that the developer wants to keep the user’s personal information secure, but it is stated that they cannot guarantee full security. This is worrisome due to the age range being 12 and older. Since the app is marketed to both adolescents and adults, I believe that some level of security should be guaranteed. Accessibility should be added into the app for users with disabilities. I could not locate accessibility settings, so I assumed the user is responsible for having accessibility tools on their personal device and utilize those while using the app. The app does a great job of encouraging users to reach out for support from individuals that they trust and share the information they record in the app with whichever individuals they choose. This is very important for the safety and development of adolescents. According to Laser and Nicotera (2021), interactions among adolescents occur in a more continuous fashion with less involvement of trusted adults due to the increased use of social media. They also state that while privacy is important in an adolescent’s life, the adolescent also needs opportunities to discuss what they are seeing on social media or in social situations with a trusted adult. Through the encouragement on the MindShift CBT app, conversations regarding life stressors or complex emotions between adolescents and trusted adults is promoted. The user is encouraged to reach out for support, so an adolescent user may be more likely to share the information they record in the app regarding their experiences or feelings of anxiety with trusted adults. According to Edgette (2012), working with adolescents in a therapeutic context is difficult due to the clinical language that clinicians are taught to use in session. Adolescents struggle to relate to this language and need a more shared language among them and the clinician. Edgette discusses how a clinician should change the language they utilize in session to build rapport with their adolescent client and work in the way the adolescent needs them to in order to make progress. With that being said, I think that the MindShift CBT app utilizes a shared language among adolescents and adults with the absence of questioning and interpreting. This app allows the user to be curious about their own experiences and build off that curiosity with exercises shared in the app. With the combination of encouragement to share and the mutual language used, I think that this app can be beneficial for adolescents during their developmental phases. I think that improvement of the app can generate from adding accessibility features, personalizing the content more for each user, and including activities or exercise that build on one another instead a more “one-off” approach.

I AM 18

I only got this app today, and I will probably be updating my review once I get a better feel for it. However I wanted to point out something. After filling out all the things needed to sign up, like putting in that I was born in 2005, I went to see what the community page was like. Once there, all it said was “Access to community is now restricted to users who are 18+ at the start of the calendar year”. This is frustrating because I’ve been 18 since January. At the very least it should ask for birth month in addition to birth year, and then correlate their 18+ rule based on that instead of at the beginning of the calendar year.

Useless crap

I found this app hard to navigate and generally not at all user friendly. I gave up on it. An app designed to help people should not frustrate them and make them walk away.

Is Data Encrypted?

This app seems great and their privacy policy is excellent, but Mozilla asked if user data was encrypted and they didn’t respond. Developers, is user data encrypted?

Could be more in depth

I like it, it’s not a bad app, but like most of these reviews say it needs to go deeper than “Great” “Good” “Fine” “Ok” “Bad” because there’s such deeper emotion than those simple ones. Also, I know it’s directed towards anxiety but I think it would be beneficial to have some other options, even if they’re small, targeted towards things like depression or anger. Still a good app, but some things could be better about it.

So helpful

The community tab is so so helpful everyone is so kind and so encouraging! This app has gotten me through some of my worst panic attacks

Thank you Canada!!!!

Thank you for creating this app and funding it. I regularly recommend to patients struggling with mild to moderate anxiety

good, but needs improvement

i like mindshift, but can you PLEASE let it save your entries and not just delete them a few days later? i want to track my anxiety, not have it just deleted. otherwise it is pointless. I want to see how i do over the months. This is not gong to work if it just deletes. thanks

Worthless

Worthless

Love this app for social anxiety.

This app pretty much has all the tools a therapist would suggest for anxiety and depression. Including exposure therapy, positive self talk, building healthy habits and much more helpful information. I just have one suggestion for the comfort zone section where you try a challenge. I think you should make it where you can add in your own challenges just like you can with coping cards. I’d love to see this suggestion in the new upgrade thanks for making such a cool app.

So helpful

This is a simple app designed to help you keep track of your anxiety along with your physical symptoms. They also have very quick ways to help ground yourself and a variety of other tools to help you quiet the mind.

perfect for any mental illness especially anxiety and depression

it’s it a life saver for panic attacks you need to try this

Problems

Lately the app is saying something went wrong when I try to save. No new updates needed, yet it won't save? Please fix it!

Poor Privacy & Security

I love the concept especially sharing abilities between clients and therapists. But my client noticed that this app is not encrypted and the privacy policy is limited - both of which are completely unacceptable for a mental health space. PLEASE resolve this and let us know when you do so we can safely use this app with our mental health clients!!

It won’t download

It won’t download. What’s the problem?

Amazing free app with mental health tools

I recently found this app and I love it. There are so many different tools such as meditation, different therapies, positive cards etc. Also love the UI! Thank you for creating this app, I plan to use it everyday :)

So helpful thank you so much 😊

This app has been an amazing help to me overcoming anxiety. Definitely download. Amazing app ⭐️👍👍👍👍

Awesome

My counselor recommended it to me and it has a great design and is geared towards people with all kinds of anxiety.

Overall good but that’s it.

It’s not a bad app at all. I do enjoy tracking my anxiety throughout the day though I wish it could go beyond three entires and maybe up to five becuase some days fluctuate for me more than others. Also I have been using this for almost a month now and have found that you can only look back on entries from the past two weeks leaving me to believe that all of my other tracking and mini journal entries have been deleted. That is a bit frustrating as I intended to use this to show my therapist during our sessions but now seeing as I can’t access some of my past data entries I am unable to do so. I wish there were a few more visuals and less text because that can be overwhelming alone and sometimes reading something during a panic can just make it worse. I really like the overall concept I just wish for more flexibility and the ability to look back on past entries.

Thankful.

This app isn’t just for teens, or children. This is actually the first app I’ve seen that is free, and has no purchases. I am very happy this app exists. I’m not entirely sure this app needs to be picked apart by psychological experts. It serves its purpose and obviously a real therapist would proceed an app… This is a good one! Thank you CAN, -C.L. Does not track anxiety attacks

Got this app to help track how long my anxiety attacks last but it only allows 3 check ins like if we had a consistent mood all day why would we need this app then??

So Far, So helpful!

I just recently downloaded this app, it has MANY different tool and tips for dealing with anxiety. It also with specific anxiety causes such as perfectionism, social anxiety, even test anxiety! There are so many different tools to access on this app that I believe if I am consistent in using will help me better cope through my anxiety. The app is all about making a change within in yourself by yourself without being dependent on something.

No

I myself think this is bad because it makes you sign into everything when you just need to create account and I am a kid no I don’t have my mom doing it because she’s not my servant she’s a beautiful independent woman anyways I didn’t even try to get in just because it looks so hard for a child to figure that out if they have stress and their parents don’t want to do it what’s the child supposed to do?! Huddle up and cry because of it?!

NOT private

I deleted this before even opening it fully because it asks for too much personal information to track you. Why do you need the year I was born? or what state I live in for a health app that surrounds personal health? That's private information that's tracking. NOPE 👎🏻 BYE 👋🏻

Worthless

This thing has crashed every time I have hit “submit” of any type. When I registered. When i tried to “check in.” It did not record anything that I had entered when it crashed for the check in. I suppose that it is a good flooding experience for people trying to reduce anxiety due to being frustrated with too much and too many things going wrong. I’m just glad I didn’t have to pay for anything.

Meh

Not engaging for an eight year old.
